The WRRC Survival Run is a FREE adventure trail event open to all current club members.
January 25, 2022. Meet at 7.45am for an 8:00am start at Carolina Beach State Park, visitor's center.
You will be rewarded at the finish with a catered hot breakfast. Because of our great relationship with Carolina Beach State Park, they invite us to dine inside the warm confides of their visitor center....right next to the stuffed opossums. There are usually two courses: short ( 5 ish) and long (10 ish). Distances vary from year to year depending on course conditions. This year there will also be a "On-the-road" contingent for those who are tentative about running on trails.
Things to know:
Course will only be roughly marked. Follow other runners at your risk, they may be lost too!
Run with a buddy. It is always more fun to be lost in the woods with a friend.
Don't get lost for too long.
Course may be rugged (it's not Bad Water or the Barkley Marathons, so no worries).
Sign up early. We are limited on the number of runners allowed in the park.
The Survival Run has been a club tradition for a long time. We have not permanently lost a runner...YET All come out of the woods......eventually.
Come get lost with your running tribe in beautiful Carolina Beach State Park!
More details to follow from Event Director, Greg Zinner.
You must be a valid WRRC member to participate in this FREE event, so join or renew now and join the fun!
